The players of the main roster of the hockey team were sent to Minsk, where the next day was scheduled to play with the hockey club Dynamo - the first match of Lokomotiv in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) season.

In simple meteorological conditions, the aircraft began its takeoff run at the Tunoshna airport.

The aircraft climbed to a height of no more than five or six meters, then collided with the localization beacon (LBB) antenna system, located 435 meters from the runway end and having a height of about three meters, with the LRM container, then with an intense left bank collided with the base of approach lights ( airfield lighting system) and trees, hit the ground about 600 meters from the end of the runway, on the banks of the Tunoshonka River, and collapsed. Most of the aircraft fragments were scattered at a distance of 800-900 meters from the runway end.

Only two survived - hockey player Alexander Galimov and flight engineer Alexander Sizov. Both after the plane crash were in the river. Galimov was conscious, was able to get away from the burning plane on his own and gave his last name to the police officers.

The survivors were hospitalized.

"Locomotive" as we remember it

By September 15, Rostransnadzor had checked all 15 airlines operating Yak-42 aircraft. As a result of the check, three aircraft were suspended from flights, a total of 28 Yak-42 aircraft were checked.

On September 22, the ground engineer for aviation and radio-electronic equipment, who survived the crash, Alexander Sizov, was interrogated by the deputy chairman of the IAC for the investigation of aviation accidents, Honored Pilot of the USSR Georgy Yachmenev. According to Alexander Sizov, there were no comments on the work of the aircraft either during preparation for the flight or during takeoff. Sizov noted that he did not see who was flying the plane during takeoff. Sizov did not remember the moment of the disaster itself, he only remembered how the liner took off, and the next moment he woke up in the water, where the spilled kerosene was burning.
According to Sizov's testimony, the IAC clarified the actual placement of passengers and luggage: the command staff and coaches were in the front cabin, the team was in the second cabin, the bulk of the luggage was loaded into the rear trunk. This is about the fact that the plane could not take off in a regular way due to a misalignment, as the main part of the passengers was allegedly in the front cabin.

In early October 2011, flight engineer Alexander Sizov successfully underwent plastic surgery on his face and neck.

Memorial complex to the members of the Lokomotiv hockey club who died in a plane crash on September 7, 2011, at the Leontief cemetery in Yaroslavl.

The material was prepared on the basis of information from RIA Novosti and open sources

the site on the anniversary of the Lokomotiv plane crash invites our readers to remember the dead hockey players. Everyone has a story to tell. No one will forget that day - September 7, 2011 ...

“On that day, September 7, 2011, I was sitting at work and all day waiting for the FTC's decision to disqualify Welliton (joint with Akinfeev).
Wait ........
Suddenly, a message from my former boss comes to my e-mail: “HC Lokomotiv has died.
She ran out into the corridor, ran to his department:
- Kolya, what are you talking about?
He turns the monitor to me and shows information about the tragedy.
All in tears went to the smoking room ...
Friends saw tears and said: “Marink, so why are you so upset? Just think, Velika has a disk soldered. Why cry?
I answer:
- Guys, HC Lokomotiv died. Great has nothing to do with it ... "

“An hour before the match, a press conference was held by Alexander Medvedev, at which the head of the league talked about the plans of the KHL. Hockey officials and journalists smiled and joked a lot. The beginning of the season is a holiday.

Dispersed to their jobs. And 10 minutes before the first throw-in (16.50 Moscow time), black news appeared on the websites that at 16.02 near Yaroslavl a plane crashed with the Lokomotiv team.

Only those who were at the computers found out about it right away. And even then they did not believe it, dumbfounded buried in the screens. The hockey players started the game. Salavat Yulaev's defender Andrey Kuteikin even scored the first goal of the championship, shooting beautifully from the blue line ...

But the information has already spread throughout the stadium and began to reach people. Near the bench of the Ufa team, Medvedev appeared with a pale face. Five minutes before the end of the first period, he went on the ice. He raised his hand to attract the players' attention, to stop them - the hockey players did not understand what was happening.

A terrible grief happened today, - the president of the KHL said with difficulty choosing the words. - The plane crashed with Lokomotiv hockey players, administrators and coaches on board. Of the 37 people, only one survived. Whether to continue the match or not, we will decide during the break of the hockey match. I ask you to honor the memory of the victims with a minute of silence.

There was a pause in the stadium. The captain of the Salavat Yulaev, Viktor Kozlov, began to cry. The hockey players were taken to the locker rooms ... "

Memory is the main thing that we can give now. If you have any personal story about Lokomotiv and the dead players, if you clearly remember that day on September 7, 2011 - those first seconds when you learned this shocking news - share in the comments.

This is Lokomotiv Memorial Day.

And we will remember.

A photo:

Eight years have passed since the terrible plane crash in the village of Tunoshna near Yaroslavl. On September 7, 2011, the Yak-42, on board which, in addition to the crew, were coaches and players of the Lokomotiv hockey team, crashed during takeoff. But, no matter how difficult it was, that day we closely followed the emerging information from the scene of the tragedy. A year after the disaster, Alexander Shikhanov, chief specialist-expert of the Cultural Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Yaroslavl Region (at that time he was in charge of the press service of the regional police), published a chronicle of how that day passed for him - he was one of those who were allowed to go crash. We publish this chronicle today:

September 7, 2011 started off well. In Yaroslavl on this day, the International Political Forum was officially opened under the patronage of the President of Russia. Most of the forum participants arrived and flew to Yaroslavl the day before, and in the morning politicians' speeches and discussions started in the Arena-2000. We held a press conference of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, dedicated to the protection of law and order during the forum, prepared articles in the media, TV stories. The only thing that remained to be done was to prepare publications about the work of the police directly on the forum. Together with my colleague Anton Smirnov we went to the "Arena". We took several photographs of the police officers near the "Arena-2000", filmed a video. Time flew by quickly.

Somewhere after 14:00 I decided to go to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The weather was beautiful, the sun was shining brightly. Walking up Institutskaya Street to Moskovsky Prospekt, I met the commercial director of Lokomotiv Yevgeny Chuev. We exchanged a few words with him about the forum and the prospects of Lokomotiv in the upcoming season. I remember the feeling of joy and peace that I had then.

In the office, as always, things began to turn. Time at work flies by quickly. At the beginning of the fifth hour, a phone call rang out, which sharply divided the whole day, and life, into before and after.

16:02
The fall of the Yak-42 plane near Tunoshna airport.

The correspondent of the NTM TV channel, Seryozha Afonichev, called. He asked me if it was true that a plane crashed in Tunoshna, on which Lokomotiv was supposedly flying. The first reaction is disbelief. In Yaroslavl? The plane crashed? Can not be. Moreover, with Lokomotiv ?! I called the duty room.

16:09
The duty unit of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Yaroslavl region received a message that a Yak-42 plane fell during takeoff from Tunoshna airport.

The officer on duty says that the plane did crash in Tunoshna. It is still unknown whether Lokomotiv was there. There is no information about the victims of the accident.

16:15
The emergency was reported to the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Gorovoy, the leadership of law enforcement agencies in the Yaroslavl Region.

16:17
The emergency was reported to the duty unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

We decide to go to Tunoshna. We're going with Anton. He's driving, I'm on the phone. Calls are constantly coming in. There is no certainty. I am reporting the incident to the public relations department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. I say that there are no details yet, which I will report later.

I am calling the communication and public relations department of the regional government. They also do not have information yet. We are driving together with several ambulances. We are clearly exceeding the speed limit, but the traffic police, who were all the way from the center to the airport that day, only see us off.

16:20
The officer on duty at the Ministry of Internal Affairs in a telephone conversation with the head of the aviation security service clarifies the circumstances of the fall of the Yak-42 plane and the number of passengers and crew members.

The airport is located three kilometers outside the village of Tunoshna. We almost fly through the village, when the traffic police inspector brakes us and says that we have to go towards the Volga through the village - the plane crashed there.

We turn not far from the Tunoshen school and go deep into the village, past the church. We stop near some two-story non-residential building. You cannot go further: police officers are in the cordon. We take a camera, a camera and walk between some fences and vegetable gardens.

16:25
Employees of a special task force, private security guards, dog handlers, and investigative teams were sent to Tunoshna airport.

16:30
20 experts of the forensic department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, an explosion-technical and fire-technical laboratory were sent to the scene.

The place of the fall is a little less than a kilometer away. The paths are narrow and broken. We arrive at the place. I take some photos, Anton is filming a video. Rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are working at the scene of the disaster, riot police officers are cordoned off. They arrived here from the airport and immediately cordoned off the area.

There are literally 50 meters to the outer houses of the village. I remember thinking that the falling plane miraculously did not touch the houses. The whole place where the plane crashed is smoking, plowed up, debris is everywhere. Some of the fragments lie on the foundation of a house under construction. The tail of the plane is in the water of the Tunoshka River, and firefighters are still pouring fire on it. Slightly higher along the shore are the wreckage of the bow. Large parts of the plane are scattered over a distance of about one hundred meters. Closer to the airport, on a hillock, you can see a birch tree, literally cut off by an airplane wing during a fall, and a rickety power line post that looks like a burnt cross. Under the hillock, in the hollow through which a stream flows into Tunoshonka, there are still debris.

16:45
The helicopter of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, which was in Yaroslavl, was lifted into the air.

16:50
Six medical experts, three boats, additional police squads for the second ring of the cordon were sent to the scene.

The phone rings incessantly. I begin to confirm the fact of the disaster. About the dead and wounded, nothing is known yet. On the spot, the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations organize an operational headquarters, and the head of the main department of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia for the Yaroslavl Region, General Pavel Baryshev, is already there.

The boats of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the police move along Tunoshonka and Volga. Rescuers and police officers scurry among the wreckage. The found bodies of the dead are taken to a hollow slightly away from the place of the fall. There are about ten people lying there. The bodies are almost intact, they are wearing only underwear and socks - all the rest of the clothes (apparently made of synthetics) burned down.

It's almost physically painful to look at them. It is also painful because it is clearly visible without clothes that all the victims are young men, tall, well-developed, athletic. Faces are not recognizable under a layer of soot.

Here and there among the wreckage are Lokomotiv's white hockey jerseys. It seems that they just flew out of the bags of athletes. But after walking a little around the accident site, I understand that it was the rescuers who covered the remains of the victims with sweaters. There are severely injured and burnt ones.

I force myself to drive my emotions deep, to detach from what I saw. Not now. Now - work.

I understand that soon journalists will arrive at the crash site. I ask the OMON commanders not to let anyone into the cordon without me. I call the girls from the department. I say that we confirm the fact of the disaster, but there are no details yet. They say that the phone is breaking, everyone is waiting for some official message. We agree that they say that a briefing will take place soon, at which the initial version of the disaster will be announced. I know that this must be done, and I am ready to convince the management that it is impossible to delay with this.

Of course, the plane crash is far from my competence. The Investigative Committee and special commissions will investigate the accident. But it's not that. Lokomotiv is very important for Yaroslavl. After the disaster, various rumors will arise, people may take to the streets, which will lead to unpredictable consequences, especially during the international forum, when there are many foreign delegations in the city. The faster the truthful information is brought, the less rumors there will be, and the easier it will be to enforce law and order. That's what I thought at the time. So I continue to think now.

16:57
First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs A. V. Gorovoy, head of the Russian MIA Administration for the Yaroslavl Region N. I. Trifonov arrived at Tunoshna airport. In addition, the Governor of the Yaroslavl Region S.A. Vakhrukov, the head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Yaroslavl Region, Major General of Justice O.I. Lipatov, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Central Federal District O.M. Govorun, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation I. E. Levitin.

17:00
The emergency situation was reported to the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

There are more and more people in the operational headquarters near the crash site. Representatives of the presidential administration are coming from Arena 2000. Nobody has a complete understanding of what is happening yet. But the version of the terrorist attack disappears almost immediately. It is obvious that the causes of the accident are different.

Olga Aleksandrovna Lileeva, head of the communication and public relations department of the regional government, is coming with the governor. We step aside with her, and I say that it is necessary to conduct a briefing faster in order to convey information about what is happening to people through journalists. She promises to speak with the governor.

On the radio from the border of the cordon, where Anton and I left the car, they reported that several television crews had arrived. Time is compressed, with my whole body I feel that it is necessary to make a decision faster. I'm ready to go out to the journalists myself and tell them about what is happening at the crash site. But all the same now it is not me who should do it.

17:09
The duty unit of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Yaroslavl Region received information from the main department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Yaroslavl Region that 37 people were flying on the plane, 22 corpses were found.

In the operational headquarters, after long discussions, it is decided that the briefing should be conducted by Governor Sergei Alekseevich Vakhrukov, the highest official of the Yaroslavl region. We agree with Olga Aleksandrovna that she will lead the governor out of the internal cordon line, where he will be waiting for the media right on the road, and Anton and I will bring the journalists.

We go beyond the stretched red and white signal tapes. A tall man in a dark blue T-shirt is standing near a riot police outfit and, holding his head with his hands, looks towards the wreckage. Friends of the riot police say that this is Galimov's father. At the time of the accident, he was at the dacha of friends near Tunoshna, and when he heard about the tragedy, he immediately ran here.

We go to the outer cordon line. While we are walking, we see film crews from Yaroslavl TV channels. Local journalists managed to infiltrate the still thin outer cordon line and made their way through vegetable gardens almost to the inner line, which is being held by riot police.

I especially remember one journalist, a tall guy who, clumsily bending down, tried to sneak along a rather rare picket fence. On his face, horror at the realization of disaster mingled with almost jackal's joy at how close he got to his goal. It was unpleasant to see him.

They explained that it would be better to go out on the road, where there will soon be a briefing by the governor, that no one will be allowed to go to the place anyway, because this may interfere with the analysis of the wreckage and the conduct of investigative actions that have already begun.

A photo: archive of the press service of the Russian MIA Administration for the Yaroslavl Region

17:20
For actions on the spot of an emergency, a grouping of forces and means of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Yaroslavl region was deployed - 518 people, 58 pieces of equipment. In addition, 117 police officers of the Northern Linear Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in transport were sent to cordon off the area of the plane crash and conduct initial operational and investigative actions. A double cordon of the place of emergency was organized, the movement of foreign vehicles was excluded, public order was ensured and assistance was provided in carrying out urgent rescue operations.

At least 60 journalists have gathered at the outer cordon. Many of those who worked at the international forum have already arrived in Tunoshna. Not far away, and the topic is so hot that it splashes. Film crews from Japan, Sweden, Poland, Great Britain. There are many Muscovites from almost all leading publications. And, of course, our Yaroslavl newspapermen and photographers.

He explained that a briefing by the governor of the Yaroslavl region will take place now, at which all the information known at that moment will be communicated. In addition, he promised that operators and photographers would be able to photograph the crash site at least from a distance (on the way, I looked after the point behind the inner cordon ring, from which the tail of the plane lying in the water and part of the coast with debris was visible).

Surprisingly, but then obstacles began. The police, of course, with my escort, let the journalists through, but an employee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations stood in our way, who certainly wanted his immediate superior to give him an order to let us through. Wasted seven minutes trying to call those who could give orders. Finally, they came to the governor, who asked the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations to give instructions to let the journalists in.

17:25
By the forces of riot police (Yaroslavl), the morgue was taken under guard, in which it was planned to place the bodies of the dead.

We moved along the road in a huge crowd. Looking back, I think it was a rather surreal picture - several dozen well-dressed people (after all, they were at a parquet event - an international political forum) making their way along broken roads among fences and vegetable gardens. I felt like Moses leading the Jews out of Egypt. Especially when they missed the road and had to turn the whole crowd back to the desired turn.

While they were wasting time on negotiations with the Ministry of Emergencies and wandering along the Tunoshen paths, the governor has already made a statement for three Yaroslavl channels. I had to convince him again through Olga Lileeva that I needed to tell again about everything that was known at that moment.

The journalists quickly cordoned off Sergei Vakhrukov in a semicircle and started asking questions. Sergei Alekseevich confirmed that the plane with Lokomotiv had fallen, that there were 37 passengers on the plane, that rescue work was underway, that 22 corpses were found, that the version of a terrorist attack was practically ruled out, that the causes of the tragedy were being investigated.

The briefing took about 7-9 minutes. Upon its completion, Anton and I led the cameramen and photojournalists to a small cape on the banks of the Tunoshka, from which it was possible to remove the traces of the accident without interfering with the work of rescuers and investigators. Almost all the photographs of the catastrophe that went around the world that day were taken from this place. There you can see a tail lying in the water, debris on the shore and working specialists.

19:00
Information has been received about a gathering in the Arena-2000 area of groups of citizens who are fans of the Lokomotiv hockey club - more than 500 people.

19:05
31 employees of the Uglich department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, 60 riot policemen were relocated to the Arena-2000 area from the Volzhskaya embankment.

After the shooting, Anton and I again took all the journalists out of the cordon in an organized manner. The first and most important information was given.

We decided to go to Yaroslavl, to the "Arena", to assess what was happening there and, if necessary, prepare information for the media. The problem was that Arena-2000 was cordoned off by officers of the internal affairs bodies and the FSO in connection with the holding of an international political forum, and I was afraid that conflicts could arise there.

On the way, they stopped at my house, took my wife and son. They also wanted to visit the Arena, where all Yaroslavl residents rushed with their hearts that evening. We left the car at Institutskaya Street, which was blocked by traffic police. To get to the "Arena", one had to go to Gagarin Street. My wife wanted to buy flowers, but there was nothing in the stalls - they bought all the flowers before us. People walked in an endless stream. We went with them to the "Arena". The police removed the turnstiles from the side of Gagarin Street, and the wall of the complex closest to the bus stop spontaneously became a wall of memory.

Mountains of flowers, scarves, hockey jerseys, handwritten posters, photographs, burning candles. There are practically no drunks. There are many crying people - men, women. Grief united everyone. I understand from the mood of the fans that there should be no incidents.

We leave the crowd. My wife and son are going home, and Anton and I are going to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is necessary to make information for our site.

A photo: archive of the press service of the Russian MIA Administration for the Yaroslavl Region

20:00
Preliminary information has been received about the passengers and crew members who were in the plane that crashed (45 people). At the scene, two survivors were found: aircraft flight engineer Alexander Sizov and Lokomotiv player Alexander Galimov, both were taken to the Solovyov hospital in serious condition.

In my office, I begin to quickly create text for the site. I will supplement it until the next morning. I clarify all the known information from the officer on duty, from colleagues from the Ministry of Emergencies and write.

20:45
The removal of the bodies of the dead has begun from the crash site.

The first draft of the press release appears at about nine in the evening. I wrote there everything that was known by that time about the disaster, about the work of the police, expressed condolences to the families of the victims on behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and asked the fans not to try to enter the scene of the accident, so as not to interfere with the work of rescuers and investigators.

I send information to the public relations department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, I am in constant contact with the head of the public relations department.

In the Ministry of Internal Affairs, despite the late hour, it is crowded. At about 22:00, the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Russia Alexander Gorovoy held a meeting with the leadership of the Yaroslavl internal affairs bodies. It was about connecting additional reserves. Significant forces were used to protect law and order at the forum, and after the disaster, the operational situation became complicated.

20:55
There was information that a group of HC Lokomotiv fans that had gathered earlier, which had grown to three thousand people, attempted to march through the streets of Yaroslavl.

21:26
A column of Lokomotiv fans - about two thousand people - moved from Arena-2000 along the carriageway along Gagarin Street to Moskovsky Prospekt. In order to prevent unlawful actions, escort by riot police and patrol officers was organized, traffic safety was ensured by the forces of six traffic police squads.

Closer to midnight, I add a paragraph to the text stating that the morgues and the hospital where Alexander Sizov and Alexander Galimov are kept are under guard. I am writing about the fans march across Yaroslavl. I am writing that the police understand the grief of the people and do not take administrative measures against them, but only ensure order. My task is to make it clear to readers that in this situation (as in most others) the police are together with the people.

At the same time I receive phone calls. On the recommendation of the public relations department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the correspondents of Channel One call and ask to arrange for them the possibility of a direct connection from the scene of the accident. We are going to Tunoshna again.

Traffic police officers let the car of "Channel One" with a "plate" into the village. The cordon is reinforced there. A checkpoint was set up outside the building where we left the car during the day. Correspondents of news agencies and photo correspondents are still on duty there. We leave the PTS at the cordon and go closer to the scene of the accident: me, Anton, a correspondent and operator of Channel One and another photographer from Yaroslavl (I thought that the events of that day would never fade into memory, but I don't remember who it was). We illuminate the road with chamber light. Compared to what it was during the day, the road is changing before our eyes: gravel is brought up, turns are straightened. This is necessary so that heavy equipment can drive to the scene of the accident.

We reach the inner cordon line. We film a little the work of investigators and rescuers. It does not stop at night. Near the site, tents are deployed, lanterns on masts are set up, which illuminate the site of the disaster.

0:30 September 8
The correspondent goes live and talks about what is happening behind his back. The air passes without interruption, and we return to our machines. It's starting to rain. We say goodbye to journalists and go to the city.

After a little sleep, I go to work. The situation changed little overnight. Groups of Lokomotiv fans wandered around the city almost until morning, investigators and rescuers worked at the crash site.

10:00 September 8
The bodies of 43 dead passengers and crew members of the crashed plane were found.

The commander of the Rybinsk OMON, Viktor Voronin, tells me that his officers were among the first at the crash site and took Alexander Galimov to the hospital.

The hospital where 2 victims are located, as well as the morgue are under round-the-clock protection of police officers.

The tragic events that took place caused a great public outcry. In the period from 19.00 h. 07.09. until 01.00 h. 09/08/2011 on the territory of the city of Yaroslavl spontaneously gathered groups of young people with a total number of about 10 thousand people. The largest number of fans gathered at the Arena-2000-Lokomotiv UKSK - more than 5 thousand people, in the Red Square area - 2 thousand people. Later, the fans marched along Moskovsky Prospekt in the direction of Red Square.

The movement of these groups was accompanied by police officers, who carried out preventive conversations and informed citizens about the divine services planned for 09/08/2011 in 10 churches in Yaroslavl and the Yaroslavl region. No administrative measures were applied to citizens.

Violations of public order in the regional center and other cities of the region were not allowed.

The Russian MIA Administration for the Yaroslavl Region expresses condolences to the families and friends of the fallen hockey players of the Lokomotiv team and the aircraft crew members.

We ask the fans of the hockey club not to try to enter the crash site, not to interfere with the work of specialists - experts and investigators.

We are shocked by what happened and mourn together with all Yaroslavl residents.

Again we are going with Anton Smirnov to Tunoshna. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is to visit the scene of the accident.

At the scene of the accident, everything is not the same as the day before. As far as it can be seen, because of the signal tapes (and for them the investigators, who took the leadership into their own hands, no longer let us in), many debris have already been removed there, of course, no bodies of the victims. A small area was prepared for the laying of flowers on the river bank.

The Yaroslavl journalists, who had been waiting for several hours at the police cordon, were not allowed to see the officials of the presidential administration who arrived. With Dmitry Medvedev came his pool - a dozen journalists from central publications. Only they filmed the laying of flowers and wrote about it.

From Tunoshna we go to Yaroslavl. We are catching up with the car of the "City TV channel". In it, tired, both the correspondent and the operator sleep on the go.

TV channel "Russia" asks us to organize an interview with Rybinsk riot police about yesterday. The interest in this is great. We decide that we will write down the story of the police for ourselves, so that we can use it later.

We are going to the base of the Yaroslavl OMON in the village of Sokol, where the residents of Rybinsk live. There we meet with Rossiya journalists and together with them we write a 10-minute interview with Dmitry Konoplev and Oleg Smirnov.

Back at the UMVD, I write a press release about this and post it on the website:

The names of the police officers who were the first to arrive at the scene of the plane crash in which the Lokomotiv team died and provided first aid to the injured became known.

Police Lieutenant Dmitry Konoplev and Police Warrant Officer Oleg Smirnov, officers of a special unit of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Yaroslavl Region (headquartered in Rybinsk) served on the Volga near the Tunoshna airport on a police boat. Their task was to protect the water part of the airport glide path.

At about 16.00 the police saw a plane trying to take off from the airfield. “He barely got off the ground, hooked on the locator, went to the left and fell behind the trees,” says Dmitry. - We immediately weighed anchor and swam to the place of the fall. It was no more than 300 meters from us. Oleg directed the boat, and I reported to the management about the disaster. We were there in just a minute and a half. Part of the plane lay in the water, the rest was burning on the shore. A man tried to walk in the water up to his chest to the shore. At first we thought it was a fisherman who happened to be at the scene of the accident, but then we realized that it was a victim. "

The police could not immediately bring the boat to the shore (it was shallow there). They shouted to the man to walk a little to the side. At this time, a man in the uniform of a pilot appeared from the wreckage of the plane. He tried to pull another man by the shoulders, also in uniform. From the side of the airfield, the vehicles of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, police, and an ambulance that were there quickly drove up to the crash site. They tackled the uniformed man. Alexander Sizov was pulled out of the water by the transport police.

The UN Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs returned to the first victim. The man was conscious, spoke and moved confidently, but was badly burned. Carefully the police helped him into the boat. “He was badly burned,” says Dmitry Konoplev, “and we didn't even know how to help him, but then we grabbed him by the elbows and wrists and dragged him aboard. He was very cold and asked to cover him. Having contacted the doctors by phone, we went to Yaroslavl. We talked to him all the way to prevent him from fainting. He behaved very courageously, adequately assessed what was happening. Just before loading into an ambulance" we asked his name. "Brothers, I am Galimov," he said.

Dmitry Konoplev and Oleg Smirnov have been serving in the internal affairs bodies for about 10 years. During this time, their service included numerous business trips to the North Caucasus, performing difficult tasks in Yaroslavl and other regions of the country. The police do not see anything unusual in their actions. “First of all, we must help people,” they say.

Several programs of NTV, Channel One, Russia, the Zvezda channel, and someone else are asking to shoot the story. Uploading video to file hosting. I send a link to those in Moscow, those in Yaroslavl come for a video with flash drives. I was surprised that different programs of the same channel came to me one after another. They explained that it is easier for them than trying to take a video from another program of their own channel.

9th of September
The funeral of the dead members of the Lokomotiv hockey team took place in Yaroslavl. The farewell took place at the Arena. I was there, helping the employees of the communication and public relations department of the regional government to work with the media. I had to accompany the journalists, resolve issues with the police cordon, make sure that the correspondents did not go behind the fence to the relatives of the victims.

Then I accompanied the Minister of Internal Affairs of Russia Rashid Nurgaliyev, who, being a great hockey fan, came to Yaroslavl to say goodbye to Lokomotiv.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, General of the Army Rashid Nurgaliev, took part in the farewell ceremony for the fallen players and employees of the hockey club Lokomotiv.

Rashid Gumarovich walked along with the Yaroslavl people along the mourning ice rink and laid flowers at the portraits of the hockey players and team personnel.

"The crash of the plane on which Lokomotiv was flying is a tragedy for the entire hockey world," RG Nurgaliev said. "I express my condolences to the families and friends of the hockey players, club employees and the aircraft crew."

At least 100 thousand people came to the "Arena" that day. People stood for hours in the rain to walk past the coffins of their favorite players and place flowers in their portraits. I still remember the sea of umbrellas in front of the central entrance of the complex. This is one of the most powerful experiences in my life.

All the days after the plane crash in Yaroslavl, gloomy gray sky and rain, nature cries with people. It is still impossible to get rid of the feeling of complete unreality of what is happening. I want to wake up ... But, unfortunately, this is not a dream ... It hurts, irreparably ... The bitterness of loss is irreplaceable.

There is mourning in Yaroslavl.

10 September
More than 100 thousand people came to Arena-2000 to say goodbye to the dead.

From 8:30, in spite of the pouring rain, people in an endless stream of flowers walked to the "Arena" to pay their last tribute to their favorites and share grief with the families and friends of the victims.

The farewell ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation General of the Army Rashid Nurgaliev, many other officials, famous athletes. The farewell ceremony had to be extended until 14:30, and still, not everyone could get into the Arena-2000.

14 members of the Lokomotiv team were buried at the Leontief cemetery. Those who could not say goodbye to those killed in the "Arena" laid flowers on the graves of the athletes.

On this tragic day, September 10, more than 2,500 police officers carried out public law enforcement in Yaroslavl. Including 30 specialists-cynologists with dogs and more than 500 employees of special forces.

The K-229 helicopter of the special-purpose aviation unit of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow took part in ensuring law and order. On board the helicopter there is a modern video surveillance complex, the picture from which is transmitted to the ground in real time. A crew of two people monitors the situation, tracking what is happening in the city.

The police officers, along with all Yaroslavl residents, are deeply worried about what happened and grieve for the dead hockey players, team personnel and the aircraft crew. These days they tried to support their fellow countrymen. Administrative measures were not applied to fans who expressed their feelings on the street.

There were no violations of public order. The mourning day passed without incident.

On this sad note, I will end the story about September 2011. Sometimes it seems that it was only yesterday, and sometimes - that a lot of time has passed since then. Something is remembered, something is forgotten. But we will never forget our guys from Lokomotiv.

Near Yaroslavl, the Yak-42 plane of the Yak Service airline crashed, on board which was the entire main team, the coaching staff and the attendants of the KHL Lokomotiv hockey club (Yaroslavl) - only 45 people, including eight crew members. According to the latest data, 43 people died. The bodies of 35 victims of the disaster were found. The journalists managed to communicate with the witnesses of the incident.

The charter was heading to Minsk, where the first match of the season with the local hockey team Dynamo was to take place on September 8. The plane crashed a few minutes after taking off from the Yaroslavl airport "Tunoshna", rising only 50-60 meters. According to experts from the Federal Air Transport Agency, the Yak-42 did not have time to gain sufficient height and crashed into the mast of the radio beacon. RIA Novosti clarifies that the crash itself occurred at 16:02 Moscow time. When the Yak-42 fell, it caught fire.

"I saw how the plane took off, banked on the left wing and crashed down from a height of no more than a hundred meters. It didn't catch on for anything, there were just two pops. In my opinion, the engines failed," an anonymous eyewitness told RIA Novosti , who saw the disaster from his dacha 400 meters from the scene. He clarified that the Yak-42 went down sharply after the claps.

Other eyewitnesses say that the plane flew very strangely, apparently, it had problems with the control system. They also heard pops and then black smoke.

The wreckage of the plane was found several kilometers from the runway near one of the Volga tributaries. The nose of the fuselage collapsed into the river. At the crash site. In connection with the crash, the Tunoshna airport is closed, RBC reports.

"According to the governor of the Yaroslavl region Sergei Vakhrukov, at the time of the tragedy the plane fell into two parts and caught fire. The tail section of the plane was in the river, close to the shore, looking over the water. Three and a half meters can be seen. A burnt blue-and-white fuselage is visible," reports correspondent "Yesterday" from the scene. - Residential buildings, a local village 300 meters from the crash site. The eyewitnesses are villagers. We saw the plane crash, there was an explosion, a column of flame. "

“Three minutes later I drove up there. Of course, it was creepy. ... We just rescued the fishermen who were sitting on the river. Boats with fishermen drove up, pulled out ... Two people were put on the other side, on a boat, and pulled out. shouted very strongly, "- said an eyewitness. He explained that the fishermen were stunned by the shockwave from the explosions. "Can you imagine what full aircraft tanks are? Naturally, everything exploded there, nearby buildings burned down and everything ... trees and bushes were on fire," he said.

Traffic police officers on duty at the time of the accident on the highway near the airport told the BBC that they saw a flame "the size of a 9-story building." According to them, the plane crashed immediately after it lifted off the ground. And a local resident Yevgeny told reporters that he was standing nearby, behind the church, and heard the roar of takeoff, then a roar. According to him, the flame of the burning plane was higher than the church.

“The only thing I remembered was that four people in white T-shirts were pulled out on the other side - this is our team, then I learned that this is our Lokomotiv team, which I love very much, I have always been ill and will be ill ... It was all like in a nightmare ... ", - said an anonymous source.

After the disaster, only flight engineer Alexander Sizov and hockey player Alexander Galimov, the forward of the Russian national team, survived. They were taken to the intensive care unit of the Yaroslavl city hospital with burns and fractures, reports Lifenews.ru. Galimov is in a coma, 80% of his body is burned. He has already undergone one operation.

Both survivors were caught in the river, where part of the plane fell. According to eyewitnesses, another survivor was removed from the wreckage of the Yak-42, but this information was not officially confirmed. However, doctors also do not rule out that another victim may be taken to the regional hospital. “The boys who rode bicycles said they were at the crash site and saw three survivors,” a Rossiya 24 TV channel correspondent said.

The leadership of the Yaroslavl “Locomotive” was not on this plane. "I am now at the airport. I do not know what is reported in the news, but everything is very serious here," RIA Novosti quotes the general manager of hockey "Lokomotiv" Yuri Lukin.

All Yak-42 will be checked by the prosecutor's office

The IAC has formed a commission of inquiry. A criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of air transport safety rules"), said the official representative of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Vladimir Markin. In turn, Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika instructed to check the Yak-Service airline, whose plane crashed near Yaroslavl. All Yak-42 aircraft will also be tested.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is heading to the site of the Yak-42 plane crash near Yaroslavl, the Kremlin press service reported. He also canceled a number of events planned in the framework of the Yaroslavl Political Forum and expressed condolences to the family of the hockey players and the club's fans.

Transport Minister Igor Levitin flew to the crash site on behalf of Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. Vladislav Surkov, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, also went there. He took part in the world political forum, which is taking place in Yaroslavl. The event officially announced the tragedy in Tunoshna. Together with Surkov, the plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in the Central Federal District, Oleg Govorun, went to the crash site.

Reasons for the crash

The airliner could fall either as a result of a failure of all engines, or due to a crew error. This opinion was expressed by the Hero of Russia, test pilot Magomed Tolboyev on the air of the Russian News Service. He noted that the Yak-42 is a very reliable aircraft. Such tragedies, according to him, occur because of the great deterioration of the aircraft: “An-24, Tu-34, Yak-40, Yak-42 are airplanes raped by operators who got free planes from the USSR. The planes are falling and will continue to fall. This is still in bloom, because the planes are worn out to the limit, and there are no new ones instead. "

The dispatcher of the Tunoshna airport, Ariy Novik, who supervised the takeoff of the Yak-42, told Lifenews.ru about the last minutes before the disaster. According to him, the plane took too long to take off before takeoff and crossed the take-off point. Perhaps this is what caused the tragedy.

“The commander requested take-off, I gave permission. After that, he had to get in touch when he gained 200-meter altitude, but he simply did not reach it,” Novik said. According to him, the ship commander did not report any problems - everything went on as usual.

Novik said that the airliner accelerated for a very long time, apparently, it could not pick up the required speed. But the crew commander decided to take a chance and take off from one go. “He crossed the take-off point on the runway,” says the dispatcher, “drove a few tens of meters, drove onto the ground from which he took off. And in a split second he fell on his left side and crashed.”

Help

The crashed plane with tail number RA-42434 belonged to the charter airline "Yak-Service" and was released in 1993

Tragedy in the hockey world

In connection with the incident, the KHL Opening Cup match between Ufa “Salavat Yulaev” and Mytishchi “Atlant” was canceled. After the first period of the game, the president of the KHL, Alexander Medvedev, made an address in which he announced the tragedy near Yaroslavl. The participants honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence. Then it was decided not to continue the game.

“For me it’s a shock, and I find it difficult to find words. First of all, I wanted to bring condolences to my family and friends. This is a huge loss for them: all the guys are young, hard workers. And of course, a loss for all fans not only in Russia, but also in the world Everything needs to be done to preserve the memory of these guys, and most importantly - to help Yaroslavl create a team that can adequately represent the traditions of Yaroslavl hockey, "- said in a comment "Yes" Vyacheslav Fetisov.

Fans of different hockey teams are planning to gather on Red Square in Yaroslavl tonight to honor the memory of Lokomotiv hockey players, Sport Express reported.

Anyone who at least sometimes with one eye watches the matches of the Continental Hockey League does not need to explain what the date is - September 7, 2011. On that day, the Yaroslavl Lokomotiv was killed in a plane crash. All, in an instant. The Yak-42, on which the team was sent to Minsk, rolled out of the runway, tried to take off from the ground, collided with a radio beacon and crashed. 44 people - 36 passengers and 8 crew members - were killed.

Since then, September 7 has become a memorial in memory of the crashed team. There was a law in the KHL not to appoint matches for that day. Never, no matter what happened, no matter what inconvenience other clubs had to endure, life in the league froze. September 7 was a day of real silence in hockey. A sad tradition, in some ways even scary. But she reminded at least one day that there are more important things than hockey. And it was somehow inappropriate to arrange a show on this date, which, by definition, should be any hockey match.

Humanity in the KHL was only enough for 6 years. The dry calculation of hockey managers, who certainly need every day of the calendar, turned out to be stronger than emotions. On September 7, 2018, for the first time the field of the tragedy, the Continental Hockey League holds matches, and as many as 6. Perhaps there is nothing wrong with that. The first pain of that monstrous nightmare has subsided, life goes on, and every year the lost club is remembered less and less.

But it's somehow sad that September 7 in the KHL has turned into an ordinary date. Still, this day of remembrance has now been taken away from the wrong Lokomotiv - what are they now? Not the relatives of the killed hockey players - for them this number on the calendar will remain black forever, regardless of what the KHL thinks. We took it away from ourselves: it turned out that a whole day of remembrance is too much of a luxury for a business called hockey.

Eyewitnesses of the plane crash: "The liner was still burning in the air ..."

The Yak-42 plane carrying the Yaroslavl hockey team Lokomotiv crashed yesterday, barely having time to take off from the runway of Tunoshna airport. The athletes flew on a charter flight to the match of the starting KHL championship with Dinamo Minsk. On board was the entire main composition of Yaroslavl - 35 people, as well as 8 crew members

Interrupted flight

The history of domestic hockey, alas, consists not only of victories, cups and medals. There were some really dark days. One of them was on September 7, 2011, when a Yak-42 crashed near Yaroslavl, on which the local Lokomotiv flew to the match with Dinamo Minsk. Killed 25 players (another hockey player later died in the hospital) and 11 coaches of the team, rightfully considered one of the brightest in the championship. Only those who did not fly to Minsk survived - forward Maxim Zyuzyakin and goalkeeping coach Jorma Valtonen
