Olympiad robots. The largest international competitions

Classes of robotics and technical creativity are developing, give new knowledge and help in studies. Another reason why children do not tear off the robots - the opportunity to compete. Prepared an overview of the largest international competition robots for children.

Wro.

FIRST.

FIRST® Organization (for Inspiration and Recognition in Science and Technology, English - Development and promotion of interest in science and technology) was founded in 1989 by an entrepreneur and the inventor of Din Kameman to awaken the interest of young people to science and technology. Based in Manchester, New Hampshire, USA. First Conducts competitions in four directions in which children from 6 to 18 years old can take part: First Robotics Competition (FRC), First Tech Challenge (FTC), First Lego® League and Junior First LEGO League (JR. FLL®). In Russia, the competition supports and develops the Fund "Free Business" as part of the program "Robotics".

An important part of the FIRST competition is a presentation of your own project. The project is aimed at the development of technical creativity and on the ability to project activities. Public important topics of competitions since childhood instill children's attention to the humanitarian problems of the modern world. "FIRST is an example of a design and entertainment approach to robotic competitions. This is a good approach. In competitions with Asian approaches, such as WRO, on the contrary, the competitive component is distinguished, "comments Maxim Vasilyev, the President of the Russian Association of Educational Robotics (Rowor).

IYRC

IYRC competitions (International Youth Robotic Competition, English) - International Youth Competitions for Robotics for children from 6 to 17 years old from South Korea. IYRC passes annually in August.

Participants compete in classic categories: Sumo, Robofutball and Robololeball, Passage of polygons according to certain rules and others. Also, participants may compete for the prize in the category "Creative Project" and submit the jury not only the robot, but also the program of his work.

Robocup.

Robocup is football robots. The International Annual Tournament for the first time passed in 1997, but the idea belongs to the Canadian scientist, Professor Alan McWorth, who developed the concept of robo-football in 1993.

The main idea of the Competition is utopic - the organizers hope that soon the best football players with artificial intelligence will be able to play with real footballers.

Robocup includes contests in several categories depending on the size and shape of robots: small robots (no more than 18 cm), medium robots, standard platforms (all teams create robots on the same platform, such as NaO), humanoid robots (arbitrary platforms and design).

Open Moscow Robotic Tournament

On April 20-21, 2013, an open Moscow Robotic Robotchallenge Regulation Tournament took place at the Moscow City Palace of Children's (Youth) Creativity.

Robotics Everything brave penetrates our lives. The fact that for another 15 - 20 years has appeared as science fiction, today has already become everyday ordinary. Robots have long been an integral part of our life. They help us in the household, sew, erase, clean, wash the dishes. Functions and possibilities increase more and more. Promotes such accelerated development and support at the level of governments of states. Robotness is encouraged and maintained by the state. Various contests, the Olympics, robot competitions are held.

In 2016, in Russia, such robotics competitions were held in Russia, as Robo Fest, Robocup - Football Championship among robots, World Robotics Olympiad - World Robotic Olympiad, Junior Skills Competitions. These are the most famous contests of this type for children. A schedule of competitions for 2017 has been drawn up.
Most significant events in Russia

Among the annual All-Russian robotics competitions, the most significant place is occupied by the festival."Robo Fest" which takes place in the capital. This year he has already passed on March 15 - 17. At this largest world festival, every year contestants from six to 30 years are going. Here they show their original materialized ideas. Oleg Deripasco became the "shaved father" of the festival. The idea of creating a festival appeared after visiting them the World North American Robot Competitions. Until 2007, nothing like this was done in Russia, although it is well known that in Russia the best scientific minds and personnel, brought up in the USSR.

Now the All-Russian Festival "Robo Fest" has become one of the ways to support creative young people, raising. One of the goals of its annual conduct is the revival of the prestige of the profession of engineer. This festival is not just a robotics competition, but also additional teaching young people, presentations, exchange of experience, master classes, interactive lectures for participants.

Robocup is a championship for robots playing football. In May 2016, the International Football Championship among robots was held in Tomsk. The ultimate goal of this project is the use of autonomous robots - football players in research and development work on the creation of artificial intelligence. In addition to robots - football players as part of the program, robots are created - dancers. This event is held in the framework of the All-Russian Festival for Robotic Robotics "Roboscience Tomsk - 2016".

World Robotics Olympiad is the largest worldwide non-profit robototechnical Olympiad for children 13-16 years old. The main direction of cosmic technology, robots and space. Each season rules change. All details can be found on the official website of the Olympics.

Competitions on the Junior Skills program. The main goal of the program is the early vocational guidance of schoolchildren and obtaining knowledge necessary for the future profession. In fact, this is one of the new forms of education, where all training forms are used for training: game, competition, work, motivating pedagogy. Everything that stimulates the personal growth of the student. The program affects "difficult children" who did not find themselves in ordinary school education that received a chance to find a profession in new IT technologies. This is a very serious school that develops a wide variety of useful skills and requires a serious theoretical and practical training from a schoolboy. Suffice it to say that after the competition, each participant must create his startup and protect it.

Robotics Competitions 2016 - 2017

The most significant events mentioned above. This year is more rich in events. From the end of March to June in St. Petersburg, three significant events for robotics are held, including the All-Russian Summer Robotic Camp from June 23 to August 5, 2017 to the "Pioneer".

On July 3 - 7, annual field tests of the Robocross-2017 unmanned systems will be held. On October 11 - 12, 2017, the All-Russian Competition of Intellectual Robots will be held in Sochi.
The age of participants of all these events from 6 to 16 years. Competitions in which children take part can be referred to in different ways: festivals, the Olympiad, camp, championships. But the goals they persecute, in general, are similar to the identification and support of talented promising young people.

As a rule, the types of robotics competitions include such common competitions as: kegelring, trajectory, sumo, labyrinth, biathlon, racing, road, rope. At international competitions, in addition to traditional above-mentioned competitions, there are cosmic subjects: space station, satellite, rocket.

In Russia, robotic robotic competitions are held since October 2015. Then the first All-Russian Spartakiad of Robots was held in Moscow. It included such disciplines as Robo - Sumo in the category from 100 to 3000 gr, robob lines, robo - sorting. Competitions were open and without restrictions on age.
Competitive robotics

Training Robotics - the priority direction of modern education. An independent creation of robots and programs allows students to practically familiarize the basics of designing and programming. Concept This implies the occupation of robotics on a serious level. This training system involves a large amount of theory, tasks of increased complexity. Pupils of competitive robotics groups are preferred in the selection of republican and international competitions and competitions.

Judging by the intensity of the passage of various robotics competitions, it is possible to confidently say that since 2007, when the first All-Russian festival on Robob Fest Robototechnics is born, Russian robotics develops quite successfully, and schoolchildren studying on the competitive robotics system are awaiting huge prospects ahead.

We tell about key robotic events that will be held during the first half of 2007 in Russia.
