The Siberian tournament of young physicists is carried out by the SibTUF public movement. Organizational and financial support for the tournament is provided by the Ministry of Education of the Novosibirsk Region, the "Regional Center for Development of Children and Youth Creativity", the Foundation for Support for Education Projects, Novosibirsk State University, Sunz NSU.

The tournament of young physicists (TÜV) is a team competition of schoolchildren of high schools in the ability to solve complex research tasks, convincingly represent the decisions obtained, defend them in a scientific discussion. In the summer, after the end of the international tournament of young physicists (IYPT), IYPT tasks of next year are set - 17 tasks. Members of the Methodological Commission of the Public Movement SIBTYUF translate tasks into Russian and of them, by voting members of the social movement, 10 tasks are chosen for the Siberian open tournament of young physicists. The tasks of the TÜV carry outdoor research. Work on the task implies familiarization with additional literature on the topic of tasks, the implementation of a number of attendant and computer experiments. Therefore, the tasks are communicated to teams in advance, at the beginning of the school year, so that the teams can deal with the tasks and well prepare for the Tuph.

This year, 23 teams (128 participants) took part in the tournament: 15 teams from Novosibirsk and Novosibirsk region (R.P. Krasnoobsk, Berdsk, p. Talmenka, s. Lebedos, Kuibyshev, Barabinsk) and 8 teams from other regions - Kemerovo region (Novokuznetsk and Mr. Mezhdurechensk), Republic of Sakha (Mirny), Sverdlovsk region (Yekaterinburg and G. Each team was preparing for a tournament for several months. To prepare teams to the tournament, several years ago, laboratory testing grounds were created, equipped with everything necessary for conducting scientific experiments. The tournament was held in the Educational Corps of the NSU and lasted four days. On the first day, according to tradition, as in previous years, in the audience. G.I. Fights went parallel to 7 audiences - 5 3-komanda and two 4-komanda. In each audience, a very representative jury was worked - 5-6 people, which made refereeing more objective. These are employees of institutes, representatives of companies, graduate students, students of FF NSU, team leaders who already have the experience of the judging and held through the seminars of TÜV coaches. The following teams were held in the final: "Engineatics-1" (MBOU "Engineering Lyceum of NSTU", Novosibirsk, "Demons of Physics", Maou Lyceum №130, Yekaterinburg, "Isolant", national team of Voronezh). These teams became the winners of the tournament, and in the final had to determine the absolute winners. The final took place on February 3 in the audience. G.I. Budker (BFU). Physics - interesting and fascinating science. How many unusual phenomena with its help can be explained. Typically, scientists, professors, in short, are engaged in compound phenomena studies. But the tournament of young physicists (hereinafter referred to as the TÜV) is the possibility of high school students and not only feel like real scientists and researchers.


Nevertheless, what is the tournament of young physicists?

Tournament of young physicists - One of the leading international team competitions of high school students in the ability to solve complex research tasks, convincingly submit their decisions, defend them in scientific discussions.
Alas, but this definition does not reveal the entire tournament. Therefore, I will try in this article to tell about the train fully. Immediately I want to clarify that there are many types of tournament, which among themselves do not differ much. But this article will talk about the Siberian and All-Russian tournaments (since I only participated in them).

Publication of tasks

It all starts with publication on the website of the international tournament of young physicists of seventeen tasks in the middle of summer. Following the transfer of tasks on the website of the All-Russian tournament, as well as Reference Kit.

It is worth noting that the tasks are research, that is, they require many experiments and experiments, a physical rationale for both high-quality and quantitative.

First, we all read together and superficially disassemble the conditions of tasks, then everyone chooses a task (we have such an installation that everyone itself solves its task, of course, we are consulted among themselves, but with such an installation, it will not be possible to transfer responsibility for our task) . Following we are looking for the theory and conduct the first observations.

It should be emphasized that mathematical calculations are not supported by physics are, to gently say, a bad tone in the tournament.

In general, a good report should contain the following items:

  • the phenomenon referred to in the condition of the task is reproduced by experience;
  • its plausible qualitative explanation is proposed;
  • the theoretical model of the phenomenon, which allows predicting some quantitative dependencies;
  • these quantitative dependencies are measured in the experiment;
  • the results of the experiment are compared with the predictions of the theory.
It is also very important to properly structure the report, because what you did in five months need to be told in 10 minutes so that you understand. Therefore, writing speech and rehearsal needs to also pay a lot of time, although it is not always possible. Usually in recent days, everything is completed experiments and include them in the presentation of the report.

Structure of physical battle

Each physical battle can be divided into three rounds, in each of which the commands change roles. By the way, about roles. After the drawing teams distribute the roles of the speaker, opponent and reviewer. If the role of the speaker is clear, what the opponent and reviewer do.
The opponent asks the speaker with clarifying questions, after which it speaks with its resume on the report. The discussion discusses the decision submitted by the Rapporteur and the basic physics of the problem. The appearance of the opponent should not turn into representation of its own solution.

Discussion

The discussion is an integral part of the tournament, as there is a direct dialogue between the participants of the tournament, which discusses the physics of the phenomenon. The task of the discussion is to bring different points of view on a phenomenon in one true, but not always so it turns out. There are such participants in the tournament who do not want to listen to another point of view, do not even want to discuss it, but they insistently impose their own, while they do not explain why their solution is true. Therefore, if you consider someone else's vision of the physical processes of the task of incorrect, then justify why it is so referring to physical laws. And try to find the right decision along with your comrade on the discussion. It should be noted that the discussion in the question-response form is extremely undesirable. In the discussion should be reasoning, and not brief questions and answers.

At the end of the All-Russian tournament, the national team on the international TÜV is created. It is worth noting the complexity of the international tournament.
