The work of specialists in this field can be seen in the circus, where gymnasts perform incredibly complex and beautiful tricks at great heights.

Of course, in the first lesson it will hardly be possible to repeat such movements, but it is quite possible to improve the figure and get rid of the fear of heights.

What is aerial gymnastics failure?

This is a special kind of circus gymnastics in which the artist demonstrates his skills to the public using special devices. Many movements are borrowed from the culture of the eastern countries, where they have been known since ancient times. The main basic tricks of modern gymnastics were formed at the beginning of the 20th century.

The program includes exercises with rings, trapezoids, canvases and other devices that are suspended at a height. In this case, the structures are either fixed in one position or move freely. Tricks are performed solo or by a group of artists.

Features and benefits of aerial gymnastics on canvas

One of the most popular areas is aerial gymnastics on canvases. Its essence is as follows. The canvases are a specific shell made of dense fabric. Its length depends on the height of the room, but, as a rule, does not exceed 9 meters. The used matter is stretching and non-stretching. The first option is suitable for professional craftsmen, the second one for beginners.

Gymnastics is always associated with grace, plasticity, lightness, grace. Workouts involve a wide variety of muscle groups that no other sport can boast. Flexibility is acquired through active stretching. Regular classes form correct posture , make the body more fit and elastic, strengthen the muscles of the arms, legs, back, buttocks.

And, of course, this is a great way to get rid of those extra pounds. The effect is that exercise is accompanied by high energy expenditure, special nutrition and titanic work.

Gymnastics on the ring

An aerial ring or lyre is a spectacular projectile. It looks like an ordinary hoop equipped with additional elements: a crossbar, a loop, fasteners. Aerial gymnastics on the ring is the embodiment of lightness, harmony of strength and plasticity. Artists can perform not only twine elements and spectacular posing, but also energetic swinging, transitions.

Such training is gaining more and more popularity every year. This is largely due to the availability of obtaining the necessary skills.

It is easy to get a sports equipment in a specialized store and do it yourself, or you can attend training with professional trainer... Air gymnastics on the ring is suitable for strengthening muscles and giving the body flexibility. Classes are interesting for people who are fond of similar sports, for example, a pole or canvases. Good physical form allows you to master the work with rings in a short time.

Gymnastics for children

Workouts are suitable for babies, older children and adolescents without appropriate training. For junior group (up to 5 years old), classes are provided that promote the development of plasticity and flexibility. Children learn basic circus exercises. In the process, stretching is often used on canvases, which is considered more effective compared to performing similar actions on the floor.

pupils senior group in training, they devote a lot of time to working with additional equipment. Are being studied difficult exercises, attention is paid to the choreography and organization of the performance.

Aerial gymnastics for children has many benefits.

The morning of the circus family begins in the same way as everyone else - you need to take the child to the kindergarten. Eleanor is two and a half years old. On weekends, parents take the girl with them to the circus, and she spends weekdays in kindergarten... Eleanor is still too early to climb under the dome, but, according to her parents, she is already striving to do it. Performs movements spied on by his parents, proudly shouting "I'm a gymnast!"

With her grandfather, she is already doing somersaults and walking on the tightrope, - says Aliya, whose first trainings began at about the same age.

Aliya Kanakhina, as far as she can remember, has always been in the circus. With "sawdust in her shoes", as they say about the children of the circus dynasty, she learned to walk, perform her first acts. Later I met here the love of my life - Andrey.

Artists often call the circus their home. They spend all their time here. The circus is home, work and hobby.

In the small hall, which is used for both training and performances, the artists practice new numbers and tricks. There is always something to work on, there is simply no limit to perfection.

Training loads are much higher than performing. Trapeze artists usually train in Czech women. But, taking into account the peculiarities of the number being prepared, Aliya is training today in dance shoes.

"The numbers performed in Soviet times and now are very different. Today, more attention is paid to the script, staging. The number should have a beginning and an end. This is drama," says Kurmangali Dosbatyrov - Aliya's father, trapeze artist, Honored Worker of the USSR and Kazakhstan. The history of the Dosbatyrov dynasty begins with him.

The numbers performed in Soviet times and now are very different. Today, more attention is paid to the script and staging.

After serving in the army, in 1974, the head of the future circus dynasty Dosbatyrovs, passed the republican competition of the Kazakh circus and toured all over the USSR for 17 years with the number "Land of Wonders".

While on tour in Stavropol, the gymnast settled in a hotel where a young dancer of the Kolos folk ensemble lived. This acquaintance turned the life of 17-year-old Elena and 27-year-old Kurmangali upside down. They got married and gave birth to three children - Daulet, Aliya and Madina.

The first to enter the arena at the age of two was Daulet - Aliya's older brother. Later, in the same clown reprise "Sit on the IL, sit on the TU and fly to Alma-Ata!"

Today Kurmangali Dosbatyrov teaches acrobatics at the Academy. Zhurgenov, and also directs trapeze artists in the circus.

Together with Andrei and Aliya, one of Kurmangali's students is engaged in the training arena today - Marina Starodubova... When Marina was 5 years old, she was impressed by the performance of Aliya and Daulet, and the girl wanted to become an air gymnast.

According to Kurmangali, Marina learned to do all the tricks in one year. Now she only improves them. Despite her 9 years old, the girl performs with experienced adult artists.

Andrey Kanakhin I got into the Almaty circus only after I entered the circus school. Up to this point, in his native Shymkent, Andrei worked in a circus tent, but, according to Andrei himself, it was a level of amateur performance.

I have never been associated with either gymnastics or acrobatics. While studying at school, he was engaged in amateur performances, acted as a clown Kuzya. He performed at every opportunity, - says Andrey.

The moment came when I thought "what next?" I decided to enter the circus school. The already prepared guys came to the competition - there were jugglers, acrobats. I thought that there was definitely nothing to catch here, because there is no stretching, I cannot do somersaults. I took loans from someone whistle and showed a miniature. He made the jury laugh, got a grant, - Andrey recalls.

Circus artists gain knowledge in all areas of circus art. So, for example, Aliya's second favorite pastime is juggling, and Andrei, having entered the "clownery" specialization, retrained as an aerialist.

Andrey combined training and touring. He performed first with the troupe, then in a duet with Ruslan Fayzulin. Traveled all over Europe. Having fed up with the "nomadic" life, Andrey realized that it was time to start a family. He wanted something of his own, permanent, to appear in this life.

We have known each other for 15 years. All circus performers know each other. Either he went on tour for six months, then me. We didn't communicate much, - says Aliya.

Alya probably didn't even think about me, but I always watched her from the sidelines. Like a kite, he hovered over his prey, - Andrey laughs.

As is often the case, it all changed by chance. The end of school was approaching, Aliya had to pass state exams. Daulet was injured in the arena, and Aliya's family remained in Kazakhstan for a long time. Returning from another tour, Andrey decided to act, and he succeeded. Aliya and Andrey have been dating for 6 years, and have been married for 4 years. Today Aliya for Andrey is an irreplaceable partner in the circus arena, a loving wife and a caring mother of their daughter.

Now the couple is preparing for a circus festival in Spain. They came up with the number ourselves, but the whole family took part in the development.

The act combines two genres - acrobatics on the mast (Andrey's favorite genre) and aerial gymnastics on belts. According to Andrey, this symbiosis of styles is an innovation they brought to the room.

Today it is very difficult to surprise the viewer, so you have to come up with something new in tricks, in numbers. Dad, having a huge store of knowledge, helps us, - says Aliya.

The number is called You and Me. Under a touching French song, gymnasts tell the story of a girl dreaming of a young man. At the end of the number, the heroine is left alone. The music was chosen very carefully, it took the couple months to choose a song.

The idea for a room does not come spontaneously. These are hours of meditation, sleepless nights, a difficult time of torment and doubt. First, a set of tricks is taken, then the plot is thought out, only then the music is applied.

We don't have favorite numbers. Each number is like a small, beloved child, - says Andrey.

One of the couple's numbers

When asked if it is difficult to combine family and circus life, Aliya replies: "On the one hand, it is very convenient when partners are also a married couple. There is a common goal and a dream. I do not know how I could explain to my husband, who is not a circus performer. that I'm leaving for Spain for six months. On the other hand, some quarrels are carried home from the arena. This is a minus. "

At the end of the training session, the gymnasts were very tired. I didn't even have the strength to lift a bottle of water, and yet I still had to remove all my inventory.

The couple also goes for their daughter. Andrey and Aliya never part. Even in a dream, an idea for a number may come up, and it will need to be discussed in the morning.

Two circus performers from Russia told Afisha Daily what it is like to perform acrobatic stunts at a height of 25 meters without belay.

Elena Baranenko: "Whatever happens, I must do at least 50 squats a day"

I have been serving at the Bolshoi Moscow State Circus for many years. My parents were circus performers. From childhood I took part in performances, studied animal training, juggling, and when I became a little older, my parents sent me to a choreographic school. Therefore, I can do something in many genres. Seven years ago, we were fooling around with a friend, an aerial gymnast, in the arena during a rehearsal, and she asked me to do some elements, I began to get a lot right off the bat, then we tried to do a couple of movements together and found out that I have a penchant for this genre. Since then we have started training together and have been performing under the dome for six years now.

The day of my first entry into the arena with an air number I remember very well. An hour before leaving, I accidentally shaved off my eyebrows and felt terrible. I was very worried that day, I could not find a place for myself in the dressing room. I thought I needed to get them cut before the show. Without going to the mirror, I ran the typewriter over my eyebrows, but forgot to put on the attachment. And then she went to the mirror and saw all the splendor. This incident relaxed me. I drew myself two lines in the place where the eyebrows used to grow, and went to perform.

We work without insurance. Sometimes during a performance, fear is such that horror! I try to overbear him. I find it comforting to think that olympic athletes harder than for us: they have wild pressure and much more responsibility. When you're on top of the rope, it's fun for you. But sometimes it is very scary.

I have a lot of superstitions about performing in the arena. Maybe this is due to the fact that my mother died in the arena. She and dad also worked in the aerial gymnastics genre. Once, during a performance, both fell out, dad survived, and mom died. She was then 33 years old, I was 9. After the death of my mother, dad at first strictly forbade me to perform in the circus, for some time I obeyed. But you can't come to the circus, fall in love and leave. If you are imbued with this life once, you will no longer be able to quit like this, at someone's order.

Before a performance, I always check all the equipment, suspension, I love safety. Although you can't escape fate. After all, risk and death are also part of life, especially if we are talking about aerial gymnastics. When I perform with horses, before going out, I always stroke the horse on the nose: it seems to me that this is how it calms down. If something doesn't work out for me several times, I do a pirouette, a kind of little ritual for good luck. Before the numbers in the air, I always read Our Father and kiss my cross. When I arrive at a new circus, before the performance I blow a kiss towards the arena. I also kiss the clubs that I juggle with: I am grateful to my props and my partner and try to create a positive atmosphere around. By the way, I have one more thing: no matter what happens, I have to do at least 50 squats a day.

It is important for me to be in good shape, not because this is a tribute to fashion, but because my life depends on it. Besides, I need to look beautiful, I'm an artist. I'm interested in healthy eating... In the evening I brew myself ginger, in the morning I drink it. Be sure to pour chia seeds with kefir in the evening and put them in the refrigerator, in the morning I add pollen, pumpkin seeds, fruits there. I also grind flax seeds and drink spirulina. In the morning I also often use avocado oil, almond and walnut oil and eat a piece of bread with butter: it is good for the skin. I have low blood pressure, so I always drink grain coffee in the morning. I also recently read that tomatoes and cucumbers are not digestible by the stomach, so now I try to avoid them. We have a very tasty canteen in the circus. I try to eat simple foodbut high quality. For lunch I take soup, liver cutlets, carrot salad. By the end of the day I get very tired, so I stop by the supermarket, buy washed grass, sprinkle olive oil there and eat with pleasure. I can afford wine in good company or even cognac in winter. At the same time, I am a big opponent of smoking. I buy food at weekend markets because everything is delicious and fresh there. I always take a hematogen with me for training, because at the right time it gives strength. As a snack, I can use an apple, coffee with dark or milk chocolate. To be honest, I have a sweet tooth. If I see a cake on my way home, I'll come home, think about it, then come back for it, buy it and eat it, and then I'll squat and try to get rid of those calories. I used to have anemia, so I often eat beef and lamb, in addition, I really like their taste, unlike other types of meat.

The first time I went to the arena at the age of 14: I performed with a number, where I juggled on a horse. Now, in addition to numbers in the air, I perform with juggling clubs and trained parrots (these are my favorite birds). My dad and brother also work in the circus.

"Askold Zapashny comes up to me every day and says:" Stop eating "

Elena Petrikova

I went to the arena at the age of 5 in a reprise with clowns. And she began to work in the aerial gymnastics genre at the age of 14, although officially it can only be done from 18. But it was painfully good for me, and therefore Mstislav Zapashny made sure that I was allowed to perform earlier than expected. I performed with a number on a rope (cord de parelle) at a height of 15 meters - the first and only one at this age with absolutely no insurance.

I don’t know why I chose this genre: I’m very afraid of heights, I get rocked on carousels, I can’t look down even from the balcony of the fifteenth floor. Initially, my dad and I did a couple in an acrobatic act, we did different racks. And one day we arrived in Vladivostok for a gathering of amateur circuses - and I saw a performance by one girl who worked in the genre of cord de parelle, and she delighted me. I got my dad out, he immediately went to the port, got me a rope from some ship. The girl at that performance did her number so easily that I thought it would not be difficult for me either. And so I grabbed the rope with my hands and feet and froze - I couldn't pull myself up even once, let alone fly on it. I was so disappointed: I thought I was going to climb up and fly right away. In the end, I spent a year and a half and finally prepared an eight-minute number in the air.

At that time I was still in school. At 5 in the morning I came to the circus rehearsal, worked out another number with horses, then went to school, coming from it, rehearsed joint numbers with my dad, then again numbers with horses, then I definitely attended a ballet master class, because Mstislav Zapashny followed so that all the artists attended choreography classes, then there was a break and already at two o'clock in the morning by the light of a light bulb, when everyone went home, my dad and I rehearsed my solo number with a rope. When I for the first time at 14 at the New Year's concert performed in the form of a seagull with this same number in the air, my wings wound around the rope, I frantically tried to pull them out and still not get out of the image, and when I found myself behind the scenes, I got too much emotions just bent my knees and I fell. Dad even has a videotape, which shows how I work out a number in the arena, and after the performance I go backstage and fall.

As a child, I worked in all equestrian genres, even climbed under the belly of horses while I was little. Circus kids are always taught different genres. I remember when I was 7 years old, I was preparing an acrobatic act, where I had to scatter and jump into the arms of the guys standing in front of me. I took a run, jumped unsuccessfully, missed and drove face down on the carpet to the end of the arena (four meters). It was painful, disgusting, ashamed, and I disliked acrobatics after that.

The specificity of aerial gymnastics is that it is very dangerous. We work without insurance, which means that if your hand opens and you drop a person, that's it. You need to have very strong hands and feel a partner. I am used to working with a partner, we have been performing together for about seven years now and thoroughly feel each other. Recently we took another gymnast into the room - and so far it's very difficult to get used to it.

Sometimes, when you go on stage, it is very scary. I had a number in which I had to make a sharp break. When it was too scary, I practiced the whole number, but I didn't perform this particular element, instead I just made different movements, waiting for the music to pass. I have had this, however, only a few times. I perform at a height of 25 meters without belay. It is impossible to get used to this fear, it just appears from time to time out of nowhere and also suddenly leaves. We recently had the premiere of a number when we performed for the first time with three of us, and not together, and I was so scared from the feeling that I was not one hundred percent in control of the situation that my fingers were shaking. There was an inner panic, hysteria. I am standing in the arena, my hands are shaking, I am ashamed, and I do not know how to stop it. I think there is a higher mind, sometimes when I tune in, I turn to it. Before the number, I close my eyes for two seconds and withdraw into myself. I may be a cynic, but when the jugglers stand behind the scenes before the performance, who will toss three clubs, and pray and cross themselves, it looks comical.

My parents are also circus performers, so they don't panic during my performance. After the show, my mother can come up to me, scold me that somewhere I did not have such an expression on my face, that I missed my sock. Dad stands on the winch (the device that lifts us up) and monitors safety. We are normal about many things that an uncirculated person will react negatively to. For example, as a child, I moved from city to city every month, changed schools due to the fact that my parents were constantly on tour. You moved, entered a new school, a month later collected your belongings, moved to a new city - and all over again. Now I also tour and often live in different cities. How old I am, I will not say. By circus standards, I am already a pensioner - we have 15 years of service. I am not married, I have no children. But I don’t need it now, I don’t feel like an adult woman who already needs all this, I’m still 17 years old in my soul.

I go to the fitness center three times a week. I can't say that I'm a fan of exercise machines, I can't stand them, I walk through strength. On the arena every day we warm up and rehearse for 5 hours. During this time, I manage to rehearse numbers with horses, then with dogs and my number in the air. Then until the evening I work as an assistant to the artistic director at the Bolshoi Moscow State Circus.

I really like to eat, this is a tragedy for me. Especially now, with age. I get upset when I can't afford pasta and pizza. I try to eat vegetables, fish, chicken, of course, without bread and sweets, otherwise I immediately begin to recover. Now I weigh 56 kilograms - and I am the second in the ranking of the fattest girls in our team. Everyone in the circus tells me that I am very fat. Askold Zapashny comes up to me every day and says: "Stop eating." It really would not hurt me to lose two or three kilograms, but I can't. It seems to me that I can lose weight only if I sit on the water, but I cannot do that, I need strength for training. In the morning, I definitely eat a slice of bread with butter to keep my skin hydrated. True, in the evening I can sometimes eat a slice of pizza or sushi. The body is accustomed to physical activity, I'm not losing weight from her.

I often dream about performances. More precisely, my music is already starting to play in the arena, and I still sit in the dressing room in my everyday clothes. In fact, it's very scary, I wake up in a cold sweat after this. As far as I know, this dream haunts many circus performers.

I have many friends who are not from the circus. I am friends with rockers, bikers, photographers, writers. After performing in the circus, at 11 pm I can go to the club to relieve tension or just go home to sleep. We often gather at my friend's cottage by the fireplace and arrange views of Tarkovsky, Fellini, then discuss what we saw.

When I’m at a height under the dome, I don’t think about anything. I listen to music, keep the image, I have no thoughts at all, everything turns off for me, and I work. In rehearsals, it is more scary than in performances, because in rehearsals you look down and see that you are very high, and when you are in the arena, you are blinded by a bright light and you cannot see what is below.

Last year my partner and I won bronze medals in Monte Carlo. As in the world of cinema, the main award is to get an Oscar, so we get a Clown, we got it. Without belay, I was holding my partner by the leg with one hand, and she hung with her head down at a height of 28 meters. Once we almost broke, my partner held me by the waist, and everything worked out. Our salaries are decent, but not huge. We are definitely not working for the sake of money.

The artist reacts very subtly to praise. For me, applause is like drugs. If you think about it, this is stupid. But if I receive thunderous applause, then I come into indescribable delight, I want to be torn to pieces with happiness. It is important to be able to adapt to the mood of the audience, to understand who to play. Even when you are at a height of 26 meters, you need to continue to play the role, to smile. It is a mistake to think that when you are there, the viewer does not see you. You can see everything: an unpainted nail, a torn off glitter, an arrow on the tights, fear on the face.

Not so long ago I graduated from the directing department of GITIS with honors and recently received another specialty - an organization management manager. I understand that I will not fly under the dome forever. Even when I cannot be a circus performer, I will remain in it in a different role. I dream of becoming a circus director someday, so now I am getting maximum knowledge.

When we were in Monaco last year, we had to perform at the sawdust arena, which tends to lose its shape. I was on a horse, she threw me at some point, and I fell right at the feet of Prince Albert and Princess Stephanie. I had two stakes on both sides, I managed to group myself and get strictly between them, otherwise I would have crashed, otherwise I just broke my finger. But then she quickly got up and once again worked out the failed trick. But Jean-Paul Belmondo clapped me! Another time, during a speech, an assistant accidentally broke my shoulder. Usually my dad lifts me into the air on a rope, and that day he was replaced by another person. I was in the air, he controlled the situation from below, and when I went to the trick, he thought that I was somehow flying low, and decided to lift me higher, and at that moment my ligaments were torn shoulder joint from such a sharp rise. It was just the finale of the act, I didn’t show it and with the most calm air I went backstage. After this incident, I could not work for six months. Unfortunately, in our profession you are not always dependent on yourself. There are always assistants who can have an attack of idiocy, and you cannot control this and you cannot do anything with this person - and why, if you are already a cripple. Torn shoulders, hands, ligaments are typical of our genre.

The most important rule is that you must give the viewer a holiday at any cost. If he wanted to see the suffering, he would not pay money for a ticket to the circus, but went to another place. But he wanted a holiday, he is waiting for a miracle, so no matter what you break for yourself, no matter what you break during the performance, in no case should you show it. After going backstage, for God's sake, cry, curse the world, run to the doctor, do whatever you want, it's up to you. The viewer is not interested in this.

Performing in the air on different apparatus is not only an extreme show that we can see in the circus, this discipline is now developing as a sport. In the air, you can perform on rings, trapeziums, canvases, cord de volanes, horizontal bars, vertical rope and other similar structures (bamboo, air flight). But in training in sports clubs the main shells are precisely rings and canvases.

Performances on canvases

Aerial canvases are designed for aerial gymnastics exercises. They are two canvases of fabric that stretches a little, from one to one and a half wide meters. If the gymnast's training allows, then the fabric is stretched more, it is more difficult to perform this way, but there is more scope for acrobatic creativity.

Gymnastics on canvas has long history - it was famous in the 17th century in China, when trapeze artists used leather straps for their tricks. But in Europe, trapeze artists began performing in 1959, when it was necessary to come up with an original replacement for other apparatus for performing above the ground. Thus, aerial gymnastics on stretches of fabric became the latest modification of this circus sports art.

Since 1996, classes on pieces of fabric have become compulsory in all circus educational institutions in France, now this discipline is taught in all large circus studios, and classes are also conducted for children and adults in private sports clubs and dance schools. Lessons on hammocks or hinges are analogous to canvases - these are the same pieces of fabric, only they do not hang freely, but the two ends are fixed to the ceiling, and the projectile becomes like a swing.

Ring acrobatics

The air ring is rigid, it has long been used in circus performances, being a classic of circus art. It is also called an air hoop, a lyre. This hoop often has additional features such as a loop and a bar.

On this apparatus, gymnastic elements are performed, like twine, also acrobatic ones - for balance, swinging, dynamic exercises. Couples are possible on the ring, but as a sport, not demonstration performances, this discipline is suitable for solo lessons.

The hoop requires great strength, flexibility and dexterity, which is why classes on it are popular with those who want to try themselves in a difficult discipline. But this discipline is unsafe, so the ring must be securely fastened, insurance and an experienced trainer are required.

Aerial gymnastics applications - circus and demonstration performances. Dance schools often host concerts, performances and aerial dance competition. Unlike pole dances, dances on other aerial apparatus are devoid of double-digit associations (unfortunately, they also penetrate nightclubs), so they are developing as a sports and dance direction.

Are you in the throes of creativity while working on your holiday program? Stuck in search of the very pearl that can raise the degree, raise the level of the celebration and the status of the celebration, draw attention to any event or opening? Is your main task aimed at ensuring that guests will remember the grandiose scale of the event for a long time? Then the gymnast show will become an irreplaceable find for the script of the holiday.

There are many styles and trends rhythmic gymnastics... The entertainment industry has significantly expanded with unique teams of circus and aerial gymnasts performing at corporate events, banquets, weddings and anniversaries. The numbers with ribbons, balls and hoops are complemented by acrobatic supports and choreographic elements. From this variety, it is easy to choose a spectacle that matches the aesthetic requirements and format of your event.

What should be considered when inviting gymnasts to a party?

Gymnastic performances performed by professionals will not leave indifferent both a solid and respectable contingent and a mischievous children's audience. However, when ordering such a performance for your celebration, you should take into account a number of necessary factors:
It is necessary to inform the team in advance where the performance will take place and what conditions for work there are. Because, for example, trapeze gymnasts need a room with high ceilings and the ability to fix their equipment.

Every band or performer has equipment and paraphernalia so you don't have to worry about that.
The repertoire and the number of performers are selected in accordance with the size of the stage space and the format of the event.
the site has collected on its page the most professional and sought-after gymnasts with a wide variety of programs designed for a chamber and large-scale audience!
