What feelings remember your victory at the Olympics?
I remember how I stood a 16-year-old young girl on a pedestal and for the first time in the history of the Olympics raised the Ukrainian flag. It was so exciting, because many factors coincided: disintegration Soviet Union, the formation of the Ukrainian team, the death of my mother, departure to Canada of my coach, who never returned ...
And for some reason I thought that everything was already the end. After all, the Olympic Gold is the highest award that an athlete can get.
And still this funny story with anthem, remember? No one thought that I could win, so the organizers did not even prepare the anthem of Ukraine. He had to look for a very long time, while Lyudmila Mikhailovskaya, who then headed our delegation, did not go to Olympic village And he did not bring the hymn record. It took 40 minutes, and I was standing all this time and cried, and everything was crying around. And the whole world was waiting and cried with me, - after these words, Oksana's voice in the tube breaks down on the cry. "Excuse me, I looked at it when I remembered."

I constantly wear it with me. Fans are very often asked to take pictures with the medal against my dress, in which I won the Olympics.
You have always claimed that they were sure that they would definitely achieve their own and become a successful athlete. Where did such confidence come from?
Since birth. I believe in fate. I remember how to train to my school at the Dnepropetrovsk "Meteore". I could never climb or trolleybus, because at 6 in the morning they drove scored. So sometimes I had to go on a rink on foot (laughs). And at the same time I never left the thought, always inside felt that I would have achieved myself.

I thought was born to be a leader. And for 15 years in my character nothing has changed. I just became an adult and more experience. I continue to train, I want to perform - every day I come for a rink every day, and half of my day goes there.
You already live in the US already in the US, but at the same time do not change citizenship. Why?
Why do it? I have a residence permit, I cry, like every person in America, their taxes, but I'm not going to change my passport.
Nostalgia in Ukraine remained?
And how can she guess? I think it is already forever. All my roots go from Dnepropetrovsk, my mom and dad are buried there. Yes, now I speak English, my home and work are in America, but I do not consider myself an American. I fly a lot, traveling, I am known all over the world. Who knows, perhaps when you call me in 5 years, we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of my medal, I will already live, say, in England.

This year I will come at the end of April. After all, I have been working for many years with children's homes, I help children. Now in the organization I support, there are already more than 1000.

Of course, like any normal person, I want to have a family, I want children, I want to marry someone, but so far there are no such candidates.
Do you have too high demands for men?
No, I do not have high demands, I have X ... after (laughs). I do not know which men should be nerves to withstand me.
What are you working on now?
For almost two and a half years, I am preparing a Broadway show on ice. This is the theater on the ice. And it starts in September-October. Everyone laughs that I do everything personally from scratch, I do it myself. When the show program appears, it will be written there: "Music - Oksana Baul, Production - Oksana Baul, poems - Oksana Baul" (laughs). I was interested to create such grand things and do it in serious.

Oksana Baul on skates is my main business, and there are a lot of side projects. I have my own clothing line - I sew the dress for skaters, they are sold in America's stores.

I follow my politics, I try. I have no time to watch TV, but my assistant keeps me aware of all events.
I know that Ukraine had a very serious situation with gas, but it, fortunately, was allowed. I called after the new year with my grandmother in Dnepropetrovsk and asked how she celebrated, grandmother answered: "Oksana, celebrated without light and warm water!"
Do you have many relatives left in Ukraine?
I have only two native people in this life - the grandmother and his brother of my Pope Peter.
There were many difficult periods in your life, everyone remembers the problems that you 
faced because of alcohol, is it already in the past?
Of course, it all passed. This is no longer. I live the future. I am glad that I can wear skates and go to the rink. I live the life that I myself created, and now everything is cool, everything is just wonderful. I have a skeleton who does not break. It is given by God.
